Russia’s VTB to provide Belarus with $2 bln bridge loan by Jul
MOSCOW, Jun 18 (PRIME) -- Belarus expects to receive a U.S. $2 billion bridge loan from Russia’s VTB Bank by the end of June, Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Vermolovich told PRIME in an interview on Wednesday.
“We are working on obtaining a bridge loan of up to $2 billion and are coordinating the terms now. We expect to close the deal by July 1,” Vermolovich said.
In May, VTB provided Belarus with $1 billion bridge loan. Belarus said then said that the country will soon strike an agreement with VTB on another $2 billion credit to repay the loan and an earlier $450 million loan.
